I found this dime in my change and noticed that the P mint mark was strange under the magnifying glass. It almost looks like the P was extended creating two points on the coin. The letters around the coin are somewhat worn as well as the 86 in the date. I was wondering if this is an error of some sort. Thank you for your help.

Die Deterioration maybe? Or it could just be worn. Don't take my opinion too seriously, as I still need to educate myself further on any type of Doubling or Die issue.

The flow lines are coming off the mintmark and flowing towards the closes rim. Heavy die flow lines on the field. A die struck your coin that was probably one of the last ones it struck. The die is waiting until its breakdown to be retired.

Definitely VLDS. Not valuable, but it's a neat effect.

Or you may want to save it and mark it as something to show to a new collector as an educational piece of what extreme die wear looks like?
