coop its been awhile..thanx for the response..id of never thought a cigerette lighter could do this but I deff. beleave its possible..

I'm on the fence on this kind of thing. NGC has slabbed one as plating error. It was posted here on CCF not that long ago but I can not find it. Hang on to it for now. John1

Probably PSD from a cigarette lighter as Coop said.

A partially plated cent like that IS possible, but like a real non-plated zinc cent it should show full cartwheel luster. This coin does not. It shows luster on the plated areas but not in the zinc areas. That makes me think it has been altered in some way.
