Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 08/01/2019 11:18 am A partially plated cent like that IS possible, but like a real non-plated zinc cent it should show full cartwheel luster. This coin does not. It shows luster on the plated areas but not in the zinc areas. That makes me think it has been altered in some way. Report this Post to the Staff

The reason I say that is , not to long ago I got an odd sealed box & all the coins were 1986p & 87D. Almost all of the 87s exhibited this. Think I saved a roll or 2 & have a bunch of loose ones aside also. Some of them are already showing black spots on them after being cracked out of the rolls from the zinc being exposed. Luster still present & plating varies from coin to coin but somewhat somewhat similar.
