I have over 3000 Wheat pennies from 1909 to 1958 and have no clue what they are worth . Also over 60 1943 steel pennies. Where would be best place to get value. Coin shop said I can get 3 cents a piece for them all.

to CCF. For values check ebay sold values and numistmedia.com Value will depend on condition. Three Cents each is about average. John1

Take the time to sort them by date first. Make a graph with frames large enough to write the dates on the paper. Making the graph 10 columns wide makes sorting simple. If you are not interested in taking the time to try to find errors or other varieties, simply pile them by year. Don't bother saving "nice" examples at this point. There are plenty of on line price guides. Since you cannot grade the coins you can check to see if you have any potential winners. Pre-1930 examples with mint marks below the date of D or S are certainly of more value, but even with those the condition makes a lot of difference for value. Or list them on The C word People. Or sell them as a batch on ebay. Or sell them for 3 cents each. Unless these are truly unpicked there value won't be more. The chance of them being unpicked is miniscule.

My mother has been collecting these since early 60s. They have been in a duffle bag in the attic. They have never been went through until I seperated them into dates about month ago.

Have you also sorted them by mint marks? Do you have any with mintmarks before 1935?

See if you have any of these, it is possible you have a few worth more than the standard 2-5 cents each.

Get yourself a Red Book. Any coin dealer will offer the bulk wheat price (2-3 cents each) if you walk in with thousands, even hundreds, of wheat cents.

yep, it would be very much worth your time to sit & tediously go through them, looking for the scarcer ones, particularly those dates & mints ThreeLui listed above. some of those are higher-dollar coins, even in average circulated condition they could still fetch some cash.
even better, start an album, if you're not hot on getting rid of them.
