It is a Struck Through Grease issue. Why? Note the size of the device? See the letters are wider than the normal ones next to it? The devices are tapered on the dies. Wider at the base, narrow at the top. So when grease into the devices, it blocks out the narrow part of the device and leaves the wider part to be struck when the device is not full of grease:

The more grease in the device, the less the device will be showing. But on a polished die coin, the opposite happens. Why? Because the fields are reduced removing the wider part of the device. So the narrow parts are seen on an over polished die. Thus the devices will be smaller than normal.

On this coin you can see the device is wider. Thus it is a Struck Through Grease issue.

Very cool info. I learn so much through this community. Thank you all so much for helping me learn. I'm new to coins and am soaking up whatever wisdom can be passed on. I understand these arent worth as much as other flaws. I paid $20 for it and thought I had an error coin. Hope I didnt get burned too bad. I love morgans and am glad to have it regardless

Grease Filled Dies are one of my favorite errors for some reason.
