My first impression is that it's not a real coin, perhaps something made up for the tourist trade somewhere?

Interesting thread Bob L. Luckily I didn't pay much for mine as it was purchased in a large lot of ancient coins. Definitely something to look out for though...

One of the places that was previously infested with people selling fake coins was Greece.

However, now that the laws have become extreme for catching anyone who sells real coins, you can't find a bad coin anywhere.

The outdoor malls usually have dozens of coin sellers, and if you so much as ask to see any ancient Greek, they will LITERALLY pack up their tables and leave. I only asked twice and then I didn't make that mistake again.
