I agree. Copper can take on an amazing range of colors, especially if cleaned - including greens and teals.  to the CCF!

Exposure to Ferric Nitrate and Sodium Thiosulfate in hot solution will turn bronze cents geenish blue.

Copper can have some really nice colors in toning. Here's one with blue, pink, purple and brown and a nice grease filled reverse. UNIT TATES OF RICA

Environmental factors can also cause this weird toning as well.

Most of the blue ones are from being in a whitman book and only the reverse is affected:  Sometimes they also affect the obverses as well.
