Have a look at this seller's items, it just makes me sick.
If nothing else, I just wish they wouldn't destroy these coins
Hey, let'em, if they want to do the "Shake n' Bake" with their coins sooner or later the tide will turn, and all our "Original Coins" will be worth a whole lot more.

No Problem. When your in your profile under "Avatar Selection" all you should have to do is click on a selection and the Avatar appears. Did that happen?
If you still can't load one I would post a thread under "Problems", i know a Moderator could help you.
And to keep this in context:-) Yuk to AT's

Good point, but in my humble opinion if your buying AT coins your just feeding the Monster so he can produce more little Monsters.

To me this is like the Silver Eagles they decided to (color) with a Gel or Plastic-like coating. Most of these were looked upon as an insult to the trade. Why not the same with these?

If a coin "looks nice" is all a matter of opinion. Some people do like to "improve" the look of a coin. I own a 1900o Morgan dollar that someone improved by scratching " M.L " on to her face. I suppose I could say it adds character to the coin, gives it a bit of history and adds a personal touch to the coin. Now I don't want the members of this forum getting out all their Morgan dollar collections and scratching M.L into Liberty's face just because it looks nice. Unless your initials are M.L and you want to "personalise" your collection. LOL Your 100% right. I could use it in my collection, so I bought it! So it is with false toning. You could tone up your coins to sell to the beginner collector who never saw such a wonderful color on a coin. Or you could scratch your initials on them. It's your coin and you can do what you'd like with it. I also have a 1925s Peace dollar that has a gold bar of color diagonally across both sides. Looks to me like someone was improving this coin with false toning, by what method I'm not sure.

I have always been a bit skeptical of rainbow-toned coins; that doesn't seem like the sort of thing that would often happen naturally (although I suppose it could, given the right conditions).
Anyway, this might be fun to play with. I might try it with some cheap coins, such as 1964 quarters and half dollars. At least it would make them look a bit more unique, and I have way too many of them anyway. But I would never do anything like this to a valuable coin. Rare, high-grade coins should not be tampered with; just about anything one can do to them could easily ruin them.

I just figured out the same method when I was trying out my new pencil torch. I dont want to create fake toning, but I did put beards on many famous people! by the way, heather, it takes a lot of pratice to get any light color, other than a sickly orange, so dont waist anything worth more than melt value, and pratice on new coins, also, make sure to destroy any coins that you tone to keep them out of unknowing collectors hands!

I've never been attracted to those coins that many call "rainbow" toned or even the colored State Quarters and other coins. To me they appear unnatural, fake, altered. Like play money. I sometimes find naturally toned pennies in my change or from the bank that I think are beauties and therefore keep them. A lot of toned coins on ebays and other sites don't catch my eye.
