I cant see this any other way ..it looks incused.
Reminds me of those old posters they would have at the mall , state long enough its 3 d.
Does anyone else have this issue? E Pluribus Unum is relief I thought?
Maybe I'm the only one that see's it completely sunken in.
I showed my husband this photo and asked him what he saw, he said for sure its raised.. must be the lightning..I cant see it raised.
I'll blame the mall 3d posters for it

The glare from the pictures might be creating what you see.

The E ( in states ) then S ,F, A , M.
I ironically thought Machine Doubling, then looked it up and saw the 1982 DDR is a class 4. I'd assume it's not as common .

Note the lines above the outside devices on the USA? That is showing the die is aging. With the angle you have the light set at on the EPU, that makes that wave from Die Deterioration flowing towards the closest rim. With the light strong on it, it is like a spotlight making stand out very strong. So the light is focused on one area and the 'B' is not in the focus area. Thus no glare above that area. Just common die wear. Something everyone had to realize as a die ages. The last 100K will show more die wear than all of the previous 900K. Just a fact of life that all have to face up to.
