Can someone tell me if the 1974 D Lincoln Cents in the attached photo are Large Date and/or Small Date? I believe that I might have one of each in the photo, but I'm unsure because I find it difficult to distinguish between the two versions.

I was unaware that there were two different date sizes in 1974.

Never knew there was a difference for that year. So slight I'd not even try to figure it out.

Its Interesting about the SMALL & LARE DATES. The 1974 P-D-S have 2 different 7's, Large date has a FAT 7 The Small date has a Skinny 7. For the 1970 S Small Date Its the 9.The 9 is the same 9 as the 1971 & 1972 Date. They should be called SMALL Date's Due to the Curved 9 Because it is the SAME as the 1970 Small Date. The 1970 S has two type's of 9's like the 7's in the 1974.

Those 4s look wide, which is the large date. Would need a closeup to be sure.

By the way, looking at the photos of my coins, I believe they are the "large date" variety.

Is there a big market on these varieties? Which are the scarcest, and what sort of premium do they bring?

I don't think there is any premium for one or other, just an interesting variation.

IIRC the large dates are rarer, but that's only relative to the small dates, and tons of both were churned out.
