Hi! I came across this penny and wanted to post it on the forum to learn a little bit more about it. The penny has tons of raised lines on the reverse around the "one" and the "cent". There is also a line going across the columns of the memorial building and a single long line under the building. I would love to hear what would cause something like this. I did my best to take some pictures of the areas. Thanks in advance.

@hunter37, raised lines like that make me think of die polishing lines.

They are called die scratches to cover over a previous die clash. Note that pattern they fall in?

The fields are the only part affected, because that is the outside part of the die.

Die Scratches are from polishing the die down, to get rid of a Die Clash.
