Lots of wear but I think it is DDR-005. http://www.varietyvista.com/09b%20W...0DDDR005.htm

Just collateral damage in circulation. Note they are random.

I see the split serifs, the notching on the E in QUARTER is especially obvious. This is a DDR with MD.

The 1970-D DDRs are incredibly difficult to attribute especially when the coin is worn. I couldn't do it, so cross-references for these are missing on my site.

It's not DDR-005 because of the notching on the E. It could be DDR-002 or 006 or even CRDR-001 on my site. Mine also has the MD on the reverse.

I see the "splits but they don't seem to coincide with the doubling. As coop stated. They should be be made from one direction but they are on both sides. Also the splits are usually defined and thin. These are broad and not at the correct angle. all doubling at top is MD. The only one I would say is a proper split is the one in the twig stem above T in quarter. But it is opposite the direction of the other splits!

Most of the 1970-D DDRs are a mix of both Class III and either Class I or V doubling. It can look as if the doubling is going in different directions.

Just look:

that the coin exhibits 99% MD. My only comment is does the leaf over the 2nd 'L' in DOLLAR appear to be hub doubled?

If I came across this one, I would've thought it was just MD.
