Welcome!
Once you start collecting small cents, it can quickly get out of hand! I've ended up with multiple sets as I've upgraded coins and moved them into set #2, #3, etc.

As already pointed out, the best reason to buy a slabbed coin is to assure it's genuine. There are a lot of fakes out there, be careful! Thanks for sharing your sets. Part of the fun of collecting is to add coins over time. Can't find a good price on a coin you need? Wait it out... one day you'll find it. Consider going to coin shows, it will put you in touch with several small dealers, and if you have other coins of value, you'll be in a better setting to be able to make a trade (maybe). Also, here on CCF watch for coins offered by other members. Best of luck to you, and welcome!

I have 10 sets of Lincoln Cents in Whitman Albums. Sets 1 to 6 are all completed in as high a grade as possible. Sets 7 and up are missing many key dates and sets 9 and 10 have no proofs. Example of coins in set #1.

I love small cents..and large cents..and most US coins :) Many of my small cents exist in large canvas bags but some are in booklets like yours!

So it's still just the 10 sets then carl? Kidding of course, what a fantastic collection

Quote: Ok Ken you win! Wow! Beautiful sets! Thank you! As I said, it just kind of happened. I started by wanting to get a full set of Wheat and Memorial cents minus the 4 keys. Then I thought, well, I might as well do the Memorials (and later Shields) in uncirculated. Then I thought well, the wheats are achievable in uncirculated back into the 30's...which became 29 and up...which became P mints back to 1909. Then I started adding the key dates and teens and twenties D and S mints... It gets really tough going back into the teens and twenties so I have mostly left things alone recently.

lol... assuming you meant 2019-W proof cent, not 1919.. if you have a 1919-W cent my head will explode!! ..those are some great sets you have there, everyone. thanks for sharing, you've inspired me. I'm about 37 coins shy of completing my avg circ LWC set.

I'm about 37 coins shy of completing my avg circ LWC set. Man its confusing with all these dates. I wish I had a 1919 W proof. I corrected it. It was a 2019 W proof. You have to finish the LWC set. Just don't do like I did and start updating the ones in my "best" set to AU/BU. That becomes costly.

yep, I do my homework. honestly, though, just assembling a LWC avg circ set— most of the coins grade at g/f, vf/ef in some cases— is enough of a challenge & I can surmise the expense of a set in any higher grades. well, in my youth I had those whitman folders with not much in them. over time comic books & baseball cards took me from coins for a while, but that stuff is long gone and I'm back into coins, permanently, and this was one of the sets I wanted to tackle first. I'm going to shoot for end of the year to complete it, I have everything back to 1930, needing all the key dates, especially in the teens & the two 09-Ss. I'm getting there. and I've already been thinking about how to do the next one. I know once I finish this one i'll be itching to do another, but improve the overall coin grade. i'll find the pix & post 'em.

i purchased a warman's Lincoln Cent folder. got a new one for pretty cheap. started by pickin wheaties from my bank bag of many things, and this is how it looked when I started in april this year: been chippin away at it since april, in no real rush of course, and am beginning to find replacements for some of the cruddier cents still in it: i'll get it finished in between fooling around with silver eagles, the (first) 7070 album and pre-33 US gold. the 31-S was pricey, but I don't particularly care. the prices are what they are & won't stand in the way. I see what's coming when I get down to the last dozen coins. many of those early S mints, 14-D, 22-D, etc etc... i'll work it out, this is something I've always wanted to accomplish. I'm glad I'm finally doing it. and happy to be here with The Family.
