Always a good day when something like this arrives in the mail. Another CCF member spotted what looked like a dropped letter on an ebay listing and gave me the go ahead to take my chances on it. THANK YOU!! It arrived in the mail today and while it may have been iffy from the ebay photo it is perfect in hand. And the coin grade is super nice as well, so a most excellent score. And since someone will ask, I paid $5.53 for it including shipping. 1949-D Lincoln Wheat cent mint error - dropped letter

Awesome assisted cherrypick tropicalbats! It's the real deal! I think it came from "USOM" on the reverse.

Thanks! Yeah, I think it's the D in UNITED as well but honestly just too darn busy today to really look at this one yet. Note there are some raised areas on the bust that look like squiggles that I haven't really checked out yet either. Later tonight I'll see if I can verify which D it is when I have more time.

Not really sure, but they are raised so either die gouges or what seems like an area that struck some hard debris and gave the die odd-shaped die dents. Or copper worms...
