to be a 171 you should see a doubling on the top of the R loop, as well as clear separation of the bottom serifs on the R, the left side of the R will show clear obvious doubling. Here is a photo from my collection of VAMs of one of my 171's. Sorry the photo is quite old taken before I had good lenses and through the 2x2 flip, but it's at hand on the computer at the moment.
Also check the cotton blossoms for clear doubling at the bottom of them near the stem, my photo doesn't show it clearly, but it's the most obvious think to check, see the full image photos at Vamworld:

Also is the R in Trust on the reverse broken? That's another pick up point.
