Does anyone have any info on a steel/metal looking 1992-d penny that I have because it seems as though no one has ever heard or seen it before ?

to CCF. Need better pics please. Front and back as well as weight. Does it attract to a manganate? Might be plated after it left the mint, or might have missed the copper plating from the mint supplier.

@JG1516, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes having the weight will be super important for us to help you. Please add that information to this thread. Thx.

Probably just a plated cent.

Appears to have proper luster, I think this is actually a cent struck on a non-plated planchet. I think you have a real one.

Weight isn't really going to tell you anything as a plated or non-plated cent will almost certainly be within tolerance.

If it were steel, then it would weigh, 7 grams And it would jump to a magnet. Being attracted to a magnet would mean it was plated with nickel or steel and would have a slight attraction. 2.67 to me would indicate a plated coin.
