*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***I just bought this one for less than $3. I guess nobody collects Austrian coins. I may have to start, if I can get nice big copper coins like this so cheap!

That's a beautiful piece, especially at such a low price. As far as cents per year, though, there are dealers that sell low grade late Roman bronzes (ca. 1700 years old) in a junk bin for a dollar. That's a little under 0.06 cents per year.

I'll keep an eye out for some of those. If they were proportional, the 30K would weight 277g!

The Austrian 20 kreuzer ("zwanziger") coin from 1848 also had an interesting life far away from old Vienna. Austria 20 kreuzer 1848 Silver, 26.0 mm, 6.65 gm, Vienna Mint The zwanziger is an Austrian coin which circulated in California during the Gold Rush period of the 1840's and 1850's. The coin is mentioned in several histories of the period.
