I found this gem in my pocket change today it is a bit beat up but I am just curious as to what this 1939 double Monticello may be worth

That actually might be a Doubled die. As noted by Cookie Monster, better pictures are needed to confirm or deny my speculation:)

I think you have a major Doubled Die Reverse, but clearer pictures would be helpful.

I'm 99 percent sure it's a DDR and a really nice one at that, just poor condition due to circulation. Regardless, I'd be thrilled to find this one in pocket change. Can't wait to see much clearer pics

ANACS recently graded this one for me as VF30 with no other problems. DDR FS-801 DIE 1 I might be able to get $75 to $85 for mine now that it is graded.

Looks like the 1939 DDR to me. A visible to the naked eye DD that's circulated for 80 years, wow.

That's a great find! I've been looking for this one for years! I'm glad to see someone having luck with Doubled Dies. Keep up the good work.
