More like Bane's mask. Looks like struck though, not lamination to me. Wait for pros if they will chime in

I'm thinking it's some type of glue or epoxy..Soak it in Acetone, should dissolve or soften...if it's a struck through error...Acetone would have no effect on it...good luck

Edited: storeage unit cent?

I guess it does kinda look like a bat, I didn't see it the first time. Whatever this is, it's for keeping for sure. Hope more people will chime in

All of the dark color around it make me think PMD.

Appears as if it's a retained lamination, but the dark Airbrush effect surrounding it, just leaves a huge question mark.

Panther.....airbrush effect is just dirt from being circulated and trapped as it went from hand to hand behind the edges, that s what I can see under the magnification?

Actually it is a struck through debris, and the black color was were it was laying before and has peeled off. First time I've seen that before. Struck though debris error.

Hey Coop, you notice the wings are almost identical? The only difference is the wing on the right is missing the tip but the impression is their, other wise identical? Very odd debris strike through...Groovy!

If there were a residual amount of grease, then it might collect on the coin and gather dirt on the coin staining that area?
