Is this Struck Through Grease? Also why is the Reeding separation from the coin near the date.

Does not look like a Greaser to me. The reeding by the date is a collar clash, minor.

I'm with E&V. The deep rims and missing detail on the date and letters makes me think it's Struck Through Grease. I see lots of wear, but not enough to remove the details.

The devices are wider in size and are disappearing, which is typical of a Struck Through Grease error coin. Because of the crevices of the die being blocked with grease, it will cause the coins to be struck weakly. https://www.error-ref.com/struck-th...-grease-oil/

Rest in Peace

with greasy fingers. Since the centers of the design elements remain distinct with all of the elements near the rim showing distressed detail, it happened after minting.

This is EXACTLY what millions of Ike's looked like after cycling through the slots an uncountable number of times.

How do I know? Did it.

Another reason I think it's grease is the detail on the reverse is strong. It's only the obverse that shows missing letters and detail. If it were wear from slot machines or vending wouldn't it show equal wear on both?

I'm still thinking grease, but I like the debate!

The more grease, the wider the devices will appear. When the die is full, then it disappears.

I am going to say Greaser. In my experience, the casino Ikes do not have rims that full. Also, it does not looks like the reeding is worn away (another tell for slot abused Ikes).

The Reeding is fine, I'm split on if it is a Greaser or not, I had originally thought it was just wear, but jbuck's summation pretty much matches mine.
