High spot in middle of obverse. no rim solid hammered copper look.
smaller in diameter than normal.

Is it an error?

Looks like a Dryer Coin. It spent some time tumbling around in the drum of a dryer. That flattened the edge and caused the other damage.

Looking at the coin again, it may be intentional damage.

To CCF! Sorry, but that's just a damaged coin. Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Impossible to happen at the U.S Mint. I would suggest you reading up on the actual minting process. https://www.usmint.gov/learn/histor...n-production https://www.treasury.gov/about/educ...cturing.aspx https://www.factmonster.com/math/mo...ins-are-made

Is there someone I could send it to look at in person? the center of the coin is raised with strikeing. you can see the state name, date and thetop and bottom lines of the mountain on the right side of coin fadeing to center. almost if there was something wrong with planchet.. I dont know. my pictures are no good. Is it worth getting looked at?

It is raised in the center because the metal towards the rims was reduced. They altered just one side of the coin. Not the rims on the obverse, the revere was normal until someone altered the coin. PSD (Post-Strike-Damage)

Thanks for looking at it guys. it just looked like a weird strike I can still see the o in live free or die and both Ns at the end on man and mountain but I can see how it looks like it was made smaller after the strike with the L in liberty is touching the collar. thanks guys.
