I'm not seeing any evidence of metal movement on either of them. #1 does seem to show a slant.

Normal coin with possible machine damage.

Here are two more photos. The first one is a side by side comparison. The second is a transparent overlay. Notice how the date match perfectly except for the 5. Dan

Yes I agree, I just don't see any physical damage to the area around the 5.

Nick10 could you copy the photo and place a marker where you see the hit on the right of the 5 ? Dan

Note on image #3 and #4, the one on the date is not vertical on both coins. So they are not rotated correctly.

The 5 digit shows scrape marks that run SSW to NNE within the area circled in light blue. Machines that roll coins scrape coins in that general area, often more deeply such that they also leave scrapes in the fields. During that contact metal can be pushed such that a device is distorted. Find an example without a scrape on the digit in question and you'll have something of note.

Nick10;
The coin you show as damaged by roll wrapper is the normal looking 5. The other coin has the leaning 5 without any marks.
Coop; I see what you say about the 1's. But in the transparent overlay, I took new photos and the 197 are aligned right on top of each other.
I'm sure you are all right, it just looks odd in hand. Dan

Oh, your original post shows pics from different coins? Since you didn't mention that I figured all pics were of the same coin.
So the first pic is the coin in question? On that coin I don't see any obvious damage on the 5, just an array of random small hits as on the other digits. I can't recall seeing similar on any other 75D but I'll recheck the ones I have.
