I have three rolls of 1960D small dates in BU condition. I am inexperienced with these kinds of things as I am a hoarder and not a collector. Can I send these somewhere to get evaluated? I don't know what to look for.

Here are 2 pics: a small date and a large date so you can maybe tell the difference. The large date cent has the upper loop of the number going further over the lower part than the small date cent.

Welcome Keith!

Basically the top of the 1 and the 9 in 1960 are parrell and the 0 is not quite round, more oblong on the small dates. Contrary on the large dates the 9 is struck well above the 1 and the 0 forms an almost perfect circle. Hope this helps.

1960D small date cents are worth around a dollar a roll. I don't know where those guide prices come from, but they are a pipe dream. Unc 1960D cents sell for under a dollar each.

Keith McNeil. Sometimes the small date will have a error that adds to the value.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM.
Note that many have sort of come back with photos or explanations of what the differences between the large and small are. This may be due to you being new and admittingly not a collector. Therefore let me ask if you do know the difference? Are these rolls you put together or did you aquire them? Are you sure all the coins in the rolls are the same? Many people use the expression BU to mean a shinning coin and not really Uncirculated. Are you sure these are UNCIRCULATED and not just in greast shape? Many people put together rolls of so called Uncirculated coins and most are really from circulation.
Also, as noted, prices are no where near more than about $0.20 each if you wanted to buy them in about MS-63. Possibly at a coin show $0.50 each but that is pressing the issue of values. Now for you to attempt to sell them to a dealer, forget anything more than about $1 or $2 per roll. I think everyone is getting confused with the 60 Philly small date.
