I've been using the helpful sites I've received from all the members here, for properly diagnosing double dies. I believe, I hope, that I've actually found my first one here. Any help in a certain and professional diagnosis is much appreciated.

This isn't the big DDO for 1917.

At the end of WWI (1917-1919) they used the dies to death which would cause Die Deterioration. I think this is probably what you're seeing.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

@pb, you may very well have already discovered varietyvista, but if not, I'd recommend that you take a look to help familiarize yourself with the indicators of DDOs and other mint issues. Here is a link to the known DDO for 1917:
