Note on the motto: The devices are altered towards the rim on the right side of the devices. Note on the first image, with the lighting at a lower angle, you can see the the shadow of Die Deterioration on the right side of these devices. On the second image you can see a higher light source and with the light on the left side of the devices you can see Machine Doubling. So no hub doubling present (not a doubled die) and Machine Doubling is present. (MD is caused after the strike by die movement that alters the devices)

Most new collectors do. It is often deceiving, until you note that MD affects the edges of devices only. Machine Doubling enlarges the devices often in the center of the devices. ( Machine Doubling reduces the devices:
Note the spread on the centers of these devices:

See the spread and also note the enlarging of the devices?

Again, note the hub doubling is shown by the spread on the devices. Not on the outside edges of the devices like Machine Doubling shows:

Look more for enlargement on the centers of the devices, and not on the outside edges of the devices. Machine Doubling is caused by die movement after the strike. On a doubled die, the doubling is on the die, not caused by the machine. ( Machine Doubling can also happen on a doubled die as well)
