Hey all,

I was going to send off a few coins to NGC when a thought occurred to me. How many other local members need to send stuff off as well? I work at an LCS in Silver Spring called Bonanza coins. So, here's the pitch.

A lot of people might want to get something graded, whether it be 1 coin or 10, but the costs of return shipping can be steep. So, here's how it would work. It would cost the cost of submission plus $1.50 per coin. Right now I plan to send everything under the early bird category which is all US coins under 5k. If you want variety or error attribution add $15. If enough people were interested we could do a submission for gold coins as they have to go separately.

You would have to come to the LCS and drop the coins off and pay upfront, and when they returned drive back to pick them up in person.

The thought process here is that then everyone saves money. If you have any questions, please ask them here that way everyone can see the answer. If you are interested, just shoot me a PM.

I could accept out of the DMV area submissions, but you would have to be willing to mail them to the LCS, and they would be shipped back Priority Mail 2 Day, which the submitter would have to be willing to cover.

I planned to do this soonish so I think I'll keep this open for a few weeks and then send everything off. I plan to do a group ANACS submission in the next 14 days, but I'll make a separate thread for that.

Thanks!

Cameron

Yep, I changed it to a double struck rotated 1/4 turn LMC I found in a cent bag. It's slabbed now at MS64RB. I used to use a default avatar but wanted this to be my custom one. The thread's in my signature I think.

Thanks, it's one of a kind. I actually haven't been able to find a dbl stk in collar copper memorial finer or equal, all are 63BN/RB with 1 64BN. So this may be the finest known. There are plenty finer in the zinc composition but....

Could you also start one for PCGS? The coin I want to get graded is from a country that NGC does not grade.

I wasn't planning to accept foriegn submissions at this time. I don't personally have a PCGS account, I could borrow the LCS one, but that would mean a headache and paperwork for him, because he has to report whenever he consigns a coin a to get slabbed on someone's behalf. It would be the same with an extra setp. I'd rather not deal with that, sorry.

Oh yeah.... not yet. I have extra footage on my YouTube channel, they haven't gotten him yet. I made a thread in the numismatic crime sub forum the day it happened. Pretty wild. I'm still cleaning up glass, and we don't have a front display case.

Are you kidding me? The guy didn't even wear a mask! Your local news media down there should show that video on TV. They should have that guy by now!

They did show it, no avail. The funny thing is no mask, but he did wear gloves. The local police don't really care about break ins in that area because they happen so often. This one just happened to be newsworthy. The detectives came by last week and said that they haven't found anything yet but they'll keep looking, so we can only hope.

Hey Grape if I wanted to send something off to CAC is that something you could help me out with? As I've come to be informed you need an account and they aren't accepting new members. I could pm you and discuss in more detail?

I mean, you can, but I don't have a CAC account. I know another dealer who we're on good terms with who does though. Are you in MD? Feel free to PM me.
