Strange that Heritage didn't catch that. I suspect that will end up getting pulled if someone contacts them about it

Are they showing the wrong reverse? That's more likely than a PCGS error. If it is legit then it's worth about twice (or more) than the current bid.

If you look at PCGS the coin is listed as 25¢ on the certification check.

I'm betting enough folks catch that and bidding might even go HIGHER because of the extra attention it will get.

Quote: Strange that Heritage didn't catch that. Why blame Heritage? Why not blame the TPG, who evidently employs someone that doesn't know the difference between a 20 cent piece and a 25 cent piece? Perhaps the buyer will crack it out and resubmit, hoping it comes back as an 1870-S Double Eagle in MS63.

Welcome to the main reason the double dime was a short-lived coin. People back then confused them, too.

I'm just surprised that the people at Heritage didn't catch it as they likely examined the coin before putting it up on their website.

Exactly, someone selected the wrong click box or coin number at PCGS and then whoever did the description at Heritage missed it too. It's a bit surprising Heritage didn't catch it to get it fixed, but also sort of a good reminder that the auction houses don't necessarily spend much time on their "low value coins". Either way it's really not a big deal and the consignor should have pointed it out or had it fixed too since they do fix those for free
