Here is a coin I just picked up for a killer price. ICCS Graded SP-64 and one of the first coins minted in Canada. Canadian coinage was minted at either the London or Heaton mints in England until the Ottawa mint opened in 1908.

Newest-Addition:-1908-SP-64-Dime

Love the blue toning, it looks a fair bit better in hand.

regards,

Andrew

I like the toning too...as older silver should look
I bet this coin looks much better in person.

Nice looking coin pattywhack, with only a mintage of 776,666 it's a great coin to own.

What was the grade? looks to be EF/AU.

Sorry, just seen the grade in your original post.

Scans don't really show the toning. Nice coin!

The scans dont do justice to the coin or show it in detail. It is a nice Mint State Specimen coin with beautiful toning. Not a regular issue but a Specimen.

Great coin pattiewhack! I'm curious, what "killer price" did you pay?

wwhitman: I think I remember that post. Did you ever end up having the coin graded?

My 2002 Charlton Catalogue puts a SP-63 value of $400, and a SP-65 value of $1000. At $250 I can't help but think this was a good value. My 2008 Charlton has been misplaced, so perhaps one of our more organized members can update me as to the current trends.

The 2008 edition puts the sp-63 at $600 and the SP 65 at $900. $250 is a great price. Unfortunately, I did not purchase the 2009 edition.

gawd0wns,
Not yet - I've been hesitant about getting coins slabbed. I should make a list - and check it twice - and start getting it done.
Thanks for the suggestion -
