I don't use the word "rare" very often, but I have only seen one other (different year, and zinc planchet). Bought it at a coin show in Quebec, it was in a CCCS soft flip. https://www.PCGS.com/cert/37951206 "Discovery follows discovery, each both raising and answering questions, each ending a long search, and each providing the new instruments for a new search." -- J. Other oddball plating error I have, also quite uncommon: This one has corrosion (look by last A of Canada), so it is not going to PCGS:

Last one, this one is what I call a "diffuse plating error" with just a small smattering of copper plating on it. https://www.PCGS.com/cert/32839539Anyone else have 1-cent plating errors? Let's see them!!

I am curious what you call this... it must be some kind of plating error. it isn't like the zinc rot we see south of the border. sorry for the pics but it is hard to capture the rippled surface without light reflection at a certain angle.

Hi SPP I believe the title should read 2003 P rather 2006. Nice acquisition!
