Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and to coin roll hunting. I wanted to share what I've found so far in the first 9 boxes I've hunted. These are only errors and varieties that I found. I am still new to coin hunting so if something I have is incorrect please let me know. Besides these coins I have found over 2 rolls of foreign coins and close to 3 rolls of wheat pennies. Oldest wheat I found was a 1912 although it is pretty flat. The lowest mintage Wheat penny found was a 1923 S that is actually in pretty nice shape. On top of those there was also one 1904 Indian head that I found. If you want further pictures of the coins just let me know.

There was a few other finds but don't think they qualify to have in this post. I will do my best to update with finds I get every 5 - 10 boxes depending on the quality of the coins I get.

The last image is showing die wear. How is this different than Die Deterioration?

Die deterioration shows on the fields of the dies and not on the devices:
Error-And-Variety-Finds-For-Box-1---9-Of-Penny-Coin-Roll-Hunting.
These are from the newer process of hubbing called a single squeeze dies. They affect the fields, but are also the from the same affect, a die that is wearing out. These dies have a lower profile on the devices and bust. Thus die wear looks different. Again note, the fields are affected, the devices are not. These devices have a higher profile on them and the dies wear differently.

On your coin it is one of the earlier die processes called multi hubbing. It is showing die wear, that makes the devices flow to the rim.

Again note on this image the edge of the devices near the rim are the first areas to be affected. Then as the die ages the die wears more as it ages. The last die state VLDS you can see how the die distorts. Yours is even a later die state than the example I have on the image above. But I have seen designs like this before on wheat cents:

Not a doubled die, just a die event.
