Ok I picked this one a week ago in pocket change. The obverse and reverse are that of a Lincoln Memorial cent with the best guess on the date(and consensus of a few friends after inspection) as 1974. as you can see this is very poorly struck due to suspect planchet error. Here are the measurements taken. Dry weight: 1.91 grams , SG: 9.09 (copper) ,Diameter:18.4 mm and thickness coming in at 1.11 mm.Some basic reseach on my part has revealed the only foreign country to have copper coinage minted in the US was the Ethiopian cent KM # 32 I believe also the same year Selassie was deposed. The Liberty Coin Service site was used for obtaining the mintage info.So any insight on this is appreciated.

Acid is the most likely culprit.

Acid damage. there is no reason that a Lincoln Cent struck on a foreign planchet would look this way.

@H&E, I'm on team acid for this one--not a wrong planchet error in any case.
