I'm just returning to coin collecting after 10 years and I forgot a lot of things. I can't tell if this is a D or an O mint mark or an error versus me getting old and being unable to see even with a magnifier on the phone.

Thoughts? I know there were no coins out out in 1986 with an "O" mint mark so I'm not sure what this is.

I think you're seeing things. Just a coincidental circulation mark.

Strange hits, depressions, and damage often appears to be something interesting, especially if that damage is on or near a mint mark or date area.

That tiny depression almost certainly occurred after the minting process. But I can understand why you would ask.

Looks like a water spot on the coin.
