@ctt, when there are die cracks that connect to Abe's head (a common location), we call them "spike-heads" here on CCF. I haven't heard the term "horned head" before, but that seems to be an analogous description.

Hey Spence thanks for that, the reason this is horned head versus spoke is because there are actually two cracks going up to the rim versus one typically found on spike head. I will label it spike though if it's appropriate for the forum.

That's a very cool Retained Cud and spike head (it has attributes for both). I have found a number of these in various stages and conditions and always like the look of them. "devil horns" is a common name like "spitting horse" or "speared buffalo". Just a name tagged on by pop culture and not an official error name or anything.
