@fender, when I blow up your pic of the mintmark, I'm inclined to say it is not a RPM. For reference here is a link to the varietyvista page on '64 RPMs:

I'm sure the mint mark isn't but I was looking at America and the A in dollar? I'm not good at spotting those errors and still learning

After closer examination under different lights and angles I'd say this may very well be the rpm you showed in your picture

@fender, just to be clear, the pic that I posted was a close-up of *your* picture. I do see a little Mechanical Doubling, especially on the A in AMERICA.

Correct. Just Machine Doubling. This is more often seen on the quarters and larger coins on the denomination areas.

Haha my bad. No wonder I thought your pic looked exactly like mine. This Machine Doubling business is more aggravating than putting a dry sock on a wet foot. Thanks again for the help fellas

It takes a while to realize what to look for. You have seen what MD looks like. What would a DDR look like:

Two coins. The one on top is a normal one, the one on the bottom is a DDR. Do you see the difference?

I've only been at this for 6mo or so. I'm still learning. I'm glad to have this place to share and learn more. Some dd's are very obvious obviously but its ones like this I have trouble distinguishing (as in the pic above you shared). I see the difference there but it's a fine line to me. Thanks again to you all

Just Machine Doubling. Shelflike doubling is the biggest giveaway for Machine Doubling.
