Here's a nice 3 cent nickel with a pre-cud on the reverse that's not listed on cuds-on-coins. The section runs just before K:2 to K:3 and the section shows movement. The reverse also has large die crack at K:8 that passes through the wreath and a smaller die crack just before the K:6 position.

I would grade this coin as Very Fine.

Please post any comment and let me know how you would grade this coin.

Agree. Could you give us a close-up of the "pre-cud" area please.

Yes well done @yokozuna. The die cracks are nice, but this pre-cud is even better.

Don't see the crack before 6:00, but I do see one from the rim up through the ribbon and wreath between 6:30 and 7:00. I agree with the OP grade.

Very nice Pre-Cud! I still like the older term " Retained Cud" much better though! I still use that term, because it makes more sense in my opinion and is less confusing.

I agree, in fact I think this topic is the first time I've used the term "Pre-Cud." I've also started referring to Clipped Planchet as Incomplete Planchet. I'm trying to use the same terms linked to the most popular web sites for certain coins or error types. Error-Ref is my guide for most of my coins. (Thanks, Mike Diamond!) I like to sound like I know what I'm talking about even when I don't.
