An example of this date graded NGC VF-30 sold on Heritage last January, for $432 including buyer's fee. That was a superior coin with less wear, no problems, and authenticity guaranteed. fortcollins Pillar of the Community United States 3642 Posts	Posted 10/14/2019 11:38 am Trade dollars are so heavily counterfeited that all of them should be suspect until examined closely in hand. What looks like normal wear, bag marks, contact marks, chop marks, environmental damage, and toning are not proof of authenticity. The only sight unseen purchases should be major TPG certified coins in identifiably genuine slabs. Remember, Chinese counterfeiters have well over 125 years of experience counterfeiting this coin, and they also have increasingly scary experience in counterfeiting TPG slabs. This is one coin design that makes buying sight unseen raw seem a little like playing hopscotch in a minefield. JMHO. Edited by fortcollins 10/14/2019 11:39 am Report this Post to the Staff
