If it was sanded down or polished it wouldn't get a straight grade. That coin was most likely someone's pocket piece for a LONG time.

It would have to be in my pocket for about 6 to 8 weeks. (Due to as often as my wife and kids are getting into it)..

why, after the polishing it looks like someone ruined the surfaces!

that might be a 1964, 90% silver is softer and easier to wear down than a 1971+ clad

Rubbed down a lot. Probably sander. They are easy to grind down.
