That greenish tone is not unusual on the silver War Nickels.

It's the Manganese in the alloy. Manganese has a variety of oxidation states, with different resulting colors. The greenish tint is Manganese in the +6 oxidation state (MnO3-6). The most typical oxidation state for Manganese is +2, which has a weak pinkish tint.

I actually find the color on the obv to be more unusual. The reverse looks pretty normal to me for a not heavily worn War Nickel.
