Throwing a hypothetical out there. If you found a 1943 Copper Cent in a coffee can of other wheaties, would you keep it for your collection or sell it for the $$. I think I would sell it eventually, but would enjoy it for now knowing it will only rise in value anyway. What are your thoughts? swcoin.ecrater.com

I have pondered this question a few times while searching rolls for varieties. What if I found a 1969-S DDO, or a 55 DDO, or even the 58 DDO. I think I would keep it for as long as possible. We all know things happen in life that we can not foresee. The man from MI that found the 69-S this year sold his at the first major auction, he now drives a new pickup with license plates that say 69DDO. I can understand looking at 100k+ and wondering what you would do with it but, part of living responsibly is restraint and being financially responsible(we wont do into current affairs). So my answer is keep it!

Absolutely, that's a given. Then make sure it's not an altered 1948. The genuine coin has a 3 with a long tail like their steel counterparts. No tail, junk! I think the last one sold was to Rare Coin Wholesalers for $72,000. It was a NGC 53.

Get it certified -> think of what is the best way to sell such a coin -> sell it -> buy all the coins I ever wanted

I would probably keep it for a while. I have never sold a coin, nor have I ever had one worth selling (for this kind of profit that is). I guess I really cannot answer until it happens!

I'd sell it.
My answer is based on viewing this question from a different angle. If I won a lottery so that I ended up with just enough money to buy a 1943 copper cent, would I buy one? The answer is no. I'd spend SOME of the money on coins, but I have too many other financial issues to devote that much cash to my coin collection.
