Hi everyone. I am a new coin collector and stumbled upon this 10 cent 1968 coin with what appwars to be a Cud or a rim error mark. Considering it is 51 years old! I am leaning towards a post mint damage. Appreciate all the help I can get on this one. Edited by NewCollwctor 10/21/2019 08:58 am

I will get some extra photos of the coin later on :) On the coin itself, it is the only mark present which is pictured. Everywhere else on the coin, looks normal.

The metal in the area in question look to my eye, to be raised, and not due to impact damage. When the OP posts new pictures, the direction of the light source has to be indicated to more easily interpret the pictures, in particular looking for: a) raised metal indicating a Cud, or b) impact damage.

The pictures so far suggest that in the area of the error. the metal is raised. That means a Cud error (die damage), not post mint damage. That needs to be confirmed by using a different lighting angle.

It's more the damage to the edge of the coin that seems tobe tha cause for concern; it looks, in the first picture, like something has scraped metal off the edge, which has then deposited onto the rim forming the " Cud".
