i agree coin 2 looks like a real possibility. the other 2, I don't think so.

I always consider any coin where the improper mix of its alloys reveals itself as different colors or tones on the surface to be a woodie. That said, I only set aside the ones I find striking in some way.
The OP's coins being woodies ?

The 1938 is a no. The 1927 and the 1940 both show slightly streaked toning (aka slight Woodies.) I'm not sure who came up with the "Woody" name for this kind of toning, but they helped sell a lot of coins. I don't know, but I may be the only person on CCF that just doesn't like this look. It never appealed to me.

I had to go back and correct my typing TWICE because I called them Wookies.
