Hello,This is my first post here, I have gotten lots of excellent information reading posts and I looking forward to finding some about this dime I received in pocket change. I was given this 1943 dime with my change, I noticed the initials are missing and I think a die creak or Cud by the T in ET, I have not seen a 1943 dime with no initials before, is this an error? I would love the feed back and Thanks to all that help. do not know why my pictures are so far down the page , I cannot bring them up?
to CCF, what you have there is a die crack ( Cuds would be on and above[higher than] the rim) as far as the initials go, maybe grease has filled in the die. Error ? kind of but more of a "die state" minting errors would be more like the varieties of DDO's/ddr's and rpms. Don't know much about Canadian coins but if it's silver(like that year US dime would be) keeper for sure....good luck on future finds, have fun
It's a die crack with some chipping on the edges of it that makes the crack seem wider during the strike. It's not a variety and not really an error either ... just a minting anomaly.
