I'm clueless as to the varieties with early copper. Any help would be appreciated.

I picked this up for $40.

I'd also love to get opinions on a grade as well.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's the first one on that page though I'm not sure where you would find the 45 obverse varieties and the 5 reverse varieties they speak of.

Miller 33.7-r2 "berry branch" (R1, common)

Very nice pickup for $40

A nice Very Good, close to Fine.

Nice ID. Wish mine had that much detail. Pretty sure you didn't get it on ebay, or I would have seen it.

I got it from my LCS. They know I like early copper and they usually give me a chance to buy before it gets put in the case.

Thanks also to paralyse for the attribution. Much appreciated.

While I do think that is a Miller 33 I don't think the obv is 7 as it doesn't have the line from the mouth.,

Great pickup. Always plenty of interest (and love) out there for the early copper.

I'll recheck later on to verify or update. Don't have my books at work.

I think the only 33 obverse paired with the r.2 reverse is the 33.7

I honestly don't know enough about these. By the punctuation I think it has to be a Miller, and it does have the floating leaf on the Reverse, but the 8 seems different and I see northern the missing metal on the portrait or the line by the mouth that is supposed to go up. I suppose wear could be hiding the markers but the 7.2 pairing doesn't seem quite right to me, though maybe it is.

Based on the dies of the variety, a very close contender of Fine.
I'd call this one a VG10+
Nice coin.
