Hi,
I just found this error coin in a 25$ box from the bank. Is this a die chip, or interior die break or something else?

to CCF!

I also think it's a really nice die chip. The center of the C was broken off when the coin was struck. The metal of the planchet spread into the hole left in the die and formed the shape you see. That's why the copper plating isn't broken and it doesn't show any scratches cutting into the bright surface.
