I was looking through some quarter rolls today and found the reverse of a New Jersey quarter that looked very proof-like since it was extremely reflective. I even thought it was a proof at first but was surprised to see that it was a Denver mint and had a completely normal looking obverse. The more I looked at it, the more reflective it seemed. When looking at it I can even see myself in its reflection. I picked out one of the newer quarters in my rolls to show for comparison. Is this coin just in really good condition or does it seem a little odd to any of you as well? It it a possible error and should I keep it just in case?

Interesting post, but for comparison purposes perhaps you should have provided a side-by-side photograph of your "proof-like" coin with a "normal" New Jersey quarter.

Just saying.
Rest in Peace

The photos don't show the reflective look you mention.

It could be a fairly fresh reverse die that might still have some proof like quality.

However, unless both sides exhibit PL, it's a spender.

I've seen coins like this. Infact, when I searched through the roll, the ones from one machine all looked a lot better than the other examples in that roll. There was a distinctive die mark on all of these examples:

Looking at these images not, I realize that the die state was the difference. Note the fields on the examples I found. I just realize this now. So this maybe the case for your coin. Maybe a new die was placed into the machine for that reverse and you got one of those examples?
