Ater my dryer went out I opened a roll of quarters to finish laundry today. The entire roll of quarters were 2018-d Cumberland Island. In the middle of the roll was this blank. I'm sure it dosen't hold any value, or does it? I've never received a blank, Is this common? I put one of the other quarter in the picture for scale.

Not a common find. It is worth a premium, check ebay sold values for an idea on current value. Nice.

I found a Blank Penny just like that 2 days ago. It didn't have the rim around it though. I was told that they are Very Common but never hurts to get multiple comments and background on the coin . It is a quarter tho . Good find I think.
Anything rare is Awesome & .
Rest in Peace

to the CCF!

This is a type 2 quarter planchet. That means it's been through the Upset Mill and that's why it has a raised edge all of the way around. If it were a type 1, it would just be a flat surface on both sides. The edge should show the copper core on both the type 1 and type 2 planchets. You can find these on ebay for $5 to $10.

Nice find!

Looks like this planchet has been through the mill. It makes you wonder how it got so ruffed up.

Does the edge show the copper cladding?
