I buy coins whenever I have funds which I give myself a small allowance each month. Impulse buys can be bad sometimes though.

hmm... I don't have a particular month for buying, but I do watch the USMint website, I try to keep up with the ASE releases. the bullion, proof & uncirculated regular issues seem to be released at about the same time each year, so in that respect my buying (of ASEs) is during those months of initial release.

I've tried giving myself a monthly allowance. FAIL

i also can be very impulsive & impatient. sometimes it just doesn't matter if rent is due tomorrow, I just GOTTA have that _____ NOW! (FAIL)

usually, though, it's just whenever I have a sudden accumulation of funds that aren't earmarked for something else. 'budget' is typically the governor.

so I chose 'impulse', it best fits my spending habits.

(but, since joining the forum I've been trying to step-up trading, it's a good way of clearing out unwanted stuff & avoid too much spending...)

I JUST got a good connection from work . I gave a lady 50% off all of the things she bought at the store and my boss let it slide & . But I knew the lady from the bank I went to a few times . She Knows I'm into Coins and is usually rude but today she said she's gonna start watching out for odds and olds for me and she told me to come into the bank around Christmas . I don't know what that means but it turned out to be a Good day at work . No major finds . Just a Really nice 2009 Cabin, 2009 of Lincoln standing , a 1968 Elizabeth 2 Canadian Cent and a decent 1983 Quarter with by far the Smallest P mint mark I've seen By Far . I'll post pictures of it because it's the Littlest Mint Marks I've seen .
Thank you for the information , YES A Liberty Dollar will be my first buy .
Another answer to your question is buy when the time is right and you have that feeling . Everyone who has admiration for the Coin Knows The Feeling . Could be a good or a bad buy but the process is Amazing and you'll Love the Coin if it's 10,0000$ or FV . It's yours and you have it .
The time to buy, trade or roll hunt is 365 24/7 .

I tend to pace myself around my credit card billing cycle. If I've overspent, I wait for the cycle. If not, I give myself a little more leeway. Every month is pretty much the same as any other -- it's pretty constant. The main driver is what's available for prices I'm willing to pay.

I voted May, because that's when the main annual coin show rolls into town. I probably spend about as much there as I would at the other coin shows combined.
