Poll Question
Some buy for special occasions. Some buy on impulse. Some avoid months because of holidays, tax bill, tuition etc.
What Month do you purchase most of your coins?

For last 2 years it has been November, because that's when the Royal Australian Mint travelling circus comes to town. We use to be able to buy bags of coins for face value at any time and just pay for postage. They have stopped that now and will only do coin swaps in person. It saves you postage, but the queues can be long.

Your poll is incomplete. It needs:
-"I do not buy in any particular month"
This applies to me. I buy when the coins are available at the right price, which in shows or the LCS could be any month of the year.

Same as when I get the impulse?
Maybe the poll should be when Don't you buy coins

The overall plurality is probably still April, after the big purchasing spree in April 2011.
Lately, though, I suspect that the answer is mostly December (with a bit spilling out into November and January), because I get nearly as much money for my coin budget in November (around $200 or thereabouts) as the rest of the year combined (when it's mostly scraps of parental allowance, plus a trickle of interest from my old math contest prizes).
Overall, my answer is the same as oriole's - with the caveat that it also matters when I get the money to buy said coins, and last year that was November and this year it would probably also be November.
Generally, I much prefer the May-September period (and to a lesser extent also April and/or October), because it's not so darn cold and/or wet everywhere (which makes it easier to go to LCSs and coin fairs, especially the outdoor Izmaylovo Vernisage - you try sorting through bargain bins when it's below freezing), but I tend to spend most of my November haul so quickly that there's almost none left for summer.

Almost always when I see a cherry picking opportunity.
Applies to public numismatic auctions as well. In these sorts of cases, I lodge a single low fixed price bid for the item, and as a result, I usually miss out, but a cherry pick win when I am fortunate.
In terms of the vote: -any of the above.

You forgot to add: " when my funds warrant it " There is no magic month for me . When I have a little extra money I'll pick up a coin or two .

You need to add many other possibilities. For me it's if and when I can find something I need.

I pretty much buy my coins whenever. My decision is actually more tied to availability of funds than to the calendar. For example, I haven't purchased at lot of coins in the past month, because I've been waiting to pick up some funds. But, I haven't been resting on my laurels. I've been "reading the book" (studying and researching coins and currency). I've also been watching auctions of coins that I might have bid on if I had the money in order to learn more about pricing.

I've never been to any auctions or shops . All of my coins came from finds , family or pure luck . I Am going to start looking for a silver dollar to buy . I like the one with the flowing dress and eagle on the back . Possibly a few small Gold coins or gram bars . I let a Flowing Dress silver dollar and 12 1964 Kennedy's go last year before I knew about coins and now I cringe thinking about it every day . I'd buy if the price was right and I liked the coin .

I buy coins when I have money saved up, no specific month.

I instinctively selected October before I realized "When I get the impulse" was an option.
