Hey Guys and Gals - I have two pennies with "errors" for which I have been unsuccessful in finding any similar postings of therefore I am stumped. The 1988 D penny seems to me like it is either filled in or a zinc bubble. Have tried toothpick method and nothing.

The 1987 D penny mint mark is either RPM ( no similar listings found) but does not seem to be Die Deterioration or zinc bubble and or rot but I am not sure hence this post.

Please educate me.

It actually looks damaged, your images are not clear enough to be certain.

The 1987-D looks like the coin counter damaged it. (Possible split plating damage)
The 1988 Looks like the mintmark is larger, but I see no spread on it. (separation of the punching is not present) So this is not a RPM either. I checked the three web sites and nothing like this is listed. I found a DDR once and it was a large mintmint mark, but not listed as a RPM, but as a DDR.

1946-S WDDR-014 (No image on the site right now)
Note on this mintmark it has no spread. Enlarged, but no spread between punchings.
