I have a 2018 picture rocks quarter and the edge on the reverse side is 1000th higher than a regular 2018 quarter. And there are no ridges on the outside. Its completely smooth. I wasnt sure if its a error or what? Was wondering if I could get some opinions

to CCF. Looks like a Dryer Coin or a spooned coin,not an error.

it's intentional damage and not an error.

@gb89, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with the others that this smoothing and enlarging of the rim is damage (not a mint error) most likely from being left in a dryer.

Is the coin really that color, or silver in color like normal? I agree it when for a spin in a commercial dryer:
