Thanks for the input Chase007, Coinfrog and Coop.
(Sorry for the delay in the followup as I went to sleep early last night.) I was sure this was not a
DDO in spite of the title on my image files.
As for what I've heard this called, "ejection doubling" (TY & 1 in this case). My understanding was that as the die pulls away from the coin, a light vacuum can form that lifts the metal (as the metal is hot and "liquid-like" from the pressure of the strike). An analogy that comes to mind is sort of like what happens to frosting if you try to remove a spatula at a 90 degree angle from a cake. The vacuum pulls the frosting in the direction of the spatula.
EDIT:
***REVELATION***
Found this CCF post on "Ejection" doubling.
http://goccf.com/t/253031So ...... It appears from Coops images in this LINK that what I've considered raised metal from a possible vacuum is just a pressure ridge? (from the die bouncing back and creating the flat/shelf-like MD)
Thanks again for taking the time to help a feller out.
